Private Medical Clinic can provide private prescriptions for our patients to allow them to address their health concerns quickly and access medication that is not available through the NHS. Unlike NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions are not covered by the NHS. Private doctors are unable to provide NHS prescriptions. The cost of a private prescription is paid entirely by the patient and depends on the cost of the medicine and the pharmacy’s charge for supplying the medication. We charge a £25 fee for issuing patients with a private prescription.
Private prescriptions can be fulfilled at any chosen pharmacy.
The pharmacy charges a discretionary dispensing fee, usually around £5, in addition to the medication cost.
The cost of individual medications varies, and for more expensive ones, our GPs will discuss the pricing in advance.
New patients require a GP consultation for prescription issuance. These can be performed in clinic or online.
Our electronic private prescription service allows clinicians to send paperless, secure and completely compliant prescriptions direct to any pharmacy, anywhere in the UK.

This signifies that even if a private doctor has suggested a specific medication, your GP can still issue the prescription, provided specific conditions are satisfied.
