When to get hay fever treatment
As soon as symptoms begin, typically between March and July.

The hay fever jab is given into a large muscle, usually the gluteal (buttock) muscle. From there, the medication is gradually released into your bloodstream over several weeks.
Unlike tablets that need to be taken daily, a hayfever treatment provides consistent protection throughout the peak allergy season. It helps reduce inflammation in areas commonly affected by hayfever—such as the nose, throat, and eyes—so you can get on with your day without constant irritation.
When you’re exposed to pollen, your immune system releases histamine and other chemicals that trigger typical allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.
A hayfever jab works by reducing the production of these inflammatory chemicals at the source. This is why many patients describe it as giving their system a “reset” during the worst part of the allergy season—helping them feel more comfortable and in control when pollen levels are high.

At Private Medical Clinic, your safety is our absolute priority. We do not simply "sell" treatments; we provide medical care. This begins with a thorough consultation to ensure the hayfever jab is the right choice for your clinical needs.

Reviews from patients across our UK clinics.
While the medication is licensed in the UK, it is no longer routinely offered by the NHS for hayfever. Most patients now seek a hayfever injection near me through private clinics like ours.
For severe cases, yes. While Fexofenadine is a strong antihistamine, it is still a localised, daily treatment. The hayfever jab provides a systemic, continuous level of relief that tablets often cannot match.
Private hay fever treatment is highly effective in alleviating symptoms of severe hay fever for many individuals. It has the potential to provide complete relief from symptoms throughout the entire hay fever season for some people, while for others, it can significantly reduce the severity of symptoms. In such cases, combining the private treatment with other therapies allows individuals to carry on with their daily lives as usual.
At Private Medical Clinic, we only administer the hay fever jab to patients aged 18 and over following a successful medical consultation.
The hayfever injection is quick and is administered into the gluteal muscle. Most patients describe it as a minor pinch, similar to a standard flu vaccination.
Most patients begin to feel a "calming" of their symptoms within 24 to 72 hours of receiving their hayfever jab. However, the full anti-inflammatory effect usually peaks around 7 to 10 days after the administration.
A single hay fever jab typically provides relief for roughly 12 weeks (3 months). This is usually enough to cover the "peak" of the UK pollen calendar, which typically runs from May through July, ensuring you remain symptom-free through the worst of the season.
Our hayfever treatments are delivered by a team of experienced GMC-registered doctors across our CQC-registered UK clinics. Each patient is assessed individually to ensure safe and appropriate care.
