If you are visiting from overseas, your doctor can also advise on any follow-up care and provide documentation for a travel insurance claim. Not at all. Seeing a private GP has no effect on your NHS registration whatsoever. You remain fully registered with your NHS GP and all your NHS entitlements continue unchanged. We actively encourage patients to keep their NHS GP for ongoing and long-term care. With your consent, we can share a summary of your consultation with your NHS GP — but this is entirely your decision and only ever happens with your written permission.
