Why Leicester Patients Choose Us

The NHS is brilliant, but it's overwhelmed. Our clinics provide accessibility and affordability, so you can get same-day care, without the wait. We have highly experienced GPs who are able to diagnose, treat and manage all conditions you would expect from your NHS doctor.

Our doctors can spend as much time required, we don’t have time limits - not the rushed 10-minute slots you get on the NHS. And we're talking about GMC-registered GPs with years of NHS experience, so you're getting the same quality of care, just faster.

What Happens at Your Appointment

We know visiting a private clinic for the first time can feel a bit uncertain. Here is what happens:

1. Before You Arrive

Arrive 5-10 minutes early (there's parking on Princess Road West—pay-and-display, but it's usually quiet). You may fill in a quick health questionnaire in our waiting area. Help yourself to tea, coffee, or water while you wait.

2. During Your Consultation

This isn't like an NHS appointment where you feel rushed. Our Leicester doctors will take time to listen. Here's what typically happens:

  • Your GP will ask about your symptoms, medical history, and what's been worrying you. Bring a list if it helps - we want to hear everything, not just your "main" concern.
  • Physical examination will be performed if required (chaperone always available if you want one). If you need blood tests, ECG, or spirometry etc. we'll do them right there, no separate appointments.
  • Your doctor will explain the outcome or diagnosis in plain English (no confusing medical jargon), discuss your options, and create a clear action plan. This may involve a prescription, referral, lifestyle advice, or just reassurance. Follow up appointments can be arranged if required - we’re with you every step of the management plan.

3. After You Leave

Immediately following the consultation, you'll get:

  • A written summary emailed to you - we recommend you share this with your NHS GP.
  • Prescriptions sent electronically directly to your phone. You can use this code at any local Leicester pharmacy (e.g Boots on Gallowtree Gate, Superdrug in Highcross, or wherever's convenient).
  • Any referral letters or test requests sorted.

Blood results? If you had blood tests, or one of our complete health screens, results are typically back within 24 hours. We email you a full report, with the GP’s breakdown of what everything means - follow up appointments are free & we'll call you to discuss results.

We can also share everything with your NHS GP (with your permission, of course) so there's to ensure continuity of care.

  • From Highcross: Walk down toward the Clock Tower, then head toward the Cathedral. We're just past it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between you and an NHS GP?

The doctors are the same quality—all our Private GPs have worked in the NHS and are GMC-registered. The difference is convenience and unhurried consultations, with greater access to investigations and rapid results.

  • NHS appointment: Typically 2-3 week wait, 10 minutes with the doctor, then another 7-10 days for blood results.
  • Private appointment: Same-day access, no time-limit Private GP Consultation, blood results within 24 hours.

Expect the highest quality medical expertise, just without the wait. We have hundreds of 5 star reviews across multiple platforms.

Can I stay with my NHS GP and just use you occasionally?

Absolutely. That's what most patients do. They stay registered with their NHS GP for routine, continuous care but consult with us when they need something urgently—like blood tests, or a specialist referral that may take months or years on the NHS.

We're happy to share our findings with your NHS GP (with your permission) so there's no gap in your care.

What if I'm a student on a tight budget?

Phone consultations are £49 - we try to make all our appointment costs as affordable as possible. We see many students from University of Leicester and De Montfort University who may still be registered at the home address.

Do you do home visits?

Yes—£295 within 5 miles of Leicester city centre. Available 7 days a week. Our GP brings full medical equipment and can perform blood tests at your home if required.

Do I need health insurance?

No. Most patients pay directly (£49 - £95 depending on appointment type). If you have private insurance, please check your policy - most cover consultations and testing, most. We provide an invoice either way so you can claim your costs back.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

We endeavour to fit you in on the same day. We operate from 8am to 7pm weekdays, and Saturday mornings till 1pm.

For urgent appointments, please  call us on 0116 456 0583 and we'll prioritise you.

What about prescriptions?

Prescriptions are issued electronically, directly to you. This allows your to visit whichever Leicester pharmacy you choose. There is a small prescription charge £25 to cover the immediate electronic prescribing of your medication.

Where exactly are you?

36 Princess Road West in Leicester City Center - opposite the Holiday Inn, near Leicester Cathedral. If you're at the Clock Tower, walk toward the Cathedral (away from Highcross), and we're on your left just past The Case pub.

From Leicester Station: Walk out onto London Road, head toward the city centre, turn right onto Princess Road West. 5 minutes.
